Arrowleaf Pinot Noir, Okanagan BC, 2004-Earth, mushrooms, soft
red fruit and barnyard aromas up front followed by smoke and game
meat aromas. Smooth and peppery in the mouth with cedar-box and
spices, tight fine dusty tannins on the finish. Excellent
price point for a BC Pinot Noir.

Little Straw Pinot Noir, Okanagan BC, 2003-Sour cherry and
barnyard aromas (leather, earth and sweat). A soft entry on the
palate with herbal nuances layered with red berry fruit and tobacco
followed by a long spiced finish. A decently priced BC Pinot Noir.

Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC, 2004- Wowza! Huge black
fruit, black cherry and earth, coffee, tobacco and herbs.
Rich black fruit, smooth and velvety in the mouth with chocolate,
leather and spice and gripping tannins. Definitely needs time and a
little more age.

Nk'Mip Quam Qwmt Meritage, Okanagan Valley BC, 2003-Chocolate
fruitcake in a glass. Dried fruits, earth, tobacco and leather with
hints of bell pepper, creamy texture, complex with chewy oak
tannins. A big wine that will be a cellar keeper even when released.

Quails' Gate Family Reserve Merlot, Okanagan Valley, 2004-
This top tier Family Reserve Merlot was just released for the
fall and has lovely smoked plums, fresh berry, earth, coffee and
toasted aromas. On the palate-dark fruit swimming in a pool of
chocolate, and sweet tobacco finishing with tight, chewy
tannins. Cellar it for a while if you can or decant it before
drinking.

Phantom Creek Vineyard, Okanagan BC, 2003-Meaty! Smoked bacon/sausage-y
aromas, bitter chocolate and pretty violet aromas. Good acidity and freshness
with intense black fruit and smooth spices on the palate. This wine is possibly
unlike any you've ever tasted-bold intrigue!
