Terra Andina Sauvignon Blanc, Valle Central Chile, 2004- Bright
tropical fruit (specifically pineapple) aromas with gooseberry and
asparagus. Light and crisp with soft green flavours and a long
finish. Very good value and sans the tongue numbing acidity
found in some Sauvignon Blancs.

Terre de Molines, Sauvignon-Viognier, Vin de Pays du Gard France, 2004-One
of the labels of the family Michel Gassier. Terroir driven wines made
with pride and tradition. Wine Diva
isn't sure how much tradition is involved with this particular blend but is
intrigued nonetheless! A blend of 85% sauvignon blanc and 15% viognier.
The sauvignon blanc lifts the wine giving it lightness and crispness
with citrus, mineral and grass. The viognier gives the wine body and weight
with floral notes. Would be lovely with a picnic basket full of cheese,
baguette and crudité.

Thornhaven Pinot Gris, Okanagan BC, 2005- Prettily hued in a salmonish
shade. A similar leesy/yeasty nose as the Chard/Sauv above but with softer fruit
and mineral aromas. Fresh and zippy citrus flavours slightly austere in
the fruit department with just a hint of spritz.

Thornhaven Gewurztraminer, Okanagan BC, 2005- The Thornhaven Gew has
been their flagship wine-always good although the sweetness varies slightly
depending on the vintage. The 2005 is no exception, off-dry (less sweet than the
2004) with rich tropical fruit aromas, licorice (remember sen sen's), rosewater,
orange blossoms and cold cream. Fresh, fruity and spicy!

Thornhaven Diosa del Sol, Okanagan BC, 2005- This intriguing little
dessert gem was a first for Wine Diva.
An unoaked Chardonnay with just enough residual (sugar) to make it dessert-y.
Co-owner Jack Fraser poured me a sample of the Diosa (translation
goddess) and then plopped a bowl of milk chocolate rosettes in front of me. The
rosettes looked good (don't get me wrong) but the combo didn't compute.
Needless to say WD was proven wrong (not for
the first time).
Creamy and sweet (although not cloying) with honeyed pears and apples. Initially
the milk chocolate numbed the wine but then the pair started to harmonize
becoming soft, silky and less sweet.

Township 7 White
Meritage, Langley/Naramata BC, 2003-
A white wine for red wine drinkers!
This is no dainty, delicate slip of a gal. None of that fluff and floral
or zingy palate cleansing acidity. Just a glance at the bottle shape and
hue of this 100% barrel fermented/aged liquid screams brawny.
67% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon with aromas of vanilla, tropical
fruit and buttery toasted oak. Creamy and mouth-filling with a powerful
lingering finish.
This is not an appetizer wine, its the main course!
